Southern Bluefin at Waihau Bay - Video
Shayne Johnson and the team on Albatross sent us this video of their mission to fish Waihau Bay earlier this year, aided by their GP1870F Furuno sounder and plotter.
Shayne says "We filmed this video at Waihau Bay in late June, the start of the annual bluefin tuna run. It was a great trip, we caught it on the first day at about 8.30 in the morning after a massive drive from the Coromandel Peninsula we finally managed a crack at one of these majestic beats. This awesome fish tipped the scales at 66kg we would’ve been lost without our Furuno electronics it made all the difference to get straight to the hot zone at 1400m deep."
Keep an eye out for the full story coming out soon in the latest Adventurer free paper.
This video is a finalist in our 'Win a DB9' video competition. Send us your fishing videos for a chance to win too.
